Even though the first reports of damage to Florida seem to be better than expected…there will be many vehicles damaged and totaled…unfortunately. So if we lost approximately 850,000 new and used vehicles in Texas….it could easily total 1 to 2 million cars and trucks in Florida and the surrounding areas. It will be a tough situation to replace all these vehicles in both states…on a timely manner. It’s a lot of volume to make up….it won’t happen over night.
So in the months to come…many vehicles will get channeled down to the South to help Texas and Florida…but the downside once again is….the totaled vehicles from there will wind up in many Northern cities for re-sale. It’s just a fact of life. Too much money at stake for the insurance companies. They will not report all the cars to the National Vin# data bank in D.C. Most of the water damaged vehicles will arrive at your doorstep as a temptation to buy a car that is priced way below market.
DO NOT BE Caught off guard….If a car seems to good or priced too low to be true…it probably is. Best to call a “Reputable” dealer or “Car Broker” like myself…we can quickly sort out who has what. Legitimate dealers will NOT participate in this re-sale….and I will only use dealers I have trusted for 15 years.
